- Additional Info
On this tour we’ll experience history through the monumental French Plaza and the sites around Plaza Bolívar. We’ll observe the famous Obelisk and the busts of the pioneers who initially tried to build the Panama Canal. We’ll visit the old maritime wall of the Old Town - known as the Esteban Huertas Walkway - and we’ll learn more about its military role throughout our history; we’ll enjoy the view that the coast has to offer, as well as the local craft stalls along the wall.
In Bolivar’s Plaza we’ll explore various highlights of the area, such as the National Theater and the distinctive monument of the famous liberator Simon Bolivar, who once visited this area of the Old Town. We’ll enter the restored Church of Saint Francis of Assisi and observe its valuable pieces of art to understand the history behind them. We’ll connect the past with the present in the Church of Saint Philip of Neri and end the tour with a delicious meal at Casa Blanca, a local restaurant located in an old, renovated building in Plaza Bolivar. What are you waiting for to live history?
