The Old Quarter, also known as Casco Antiguo or Casco Viejo, is the historic district of Panama City. It was completed and settled in 1673, after the destruction of the original city in 1671 by Henry Morgan.

Casco Antiguo is a World Heritage Site since 1997. Its streets, buildings, plazas, and churches are beautiful and preserved, thanks to a multi-decade renovation effort by private, public, and non-profit organizations.

Fabulous

Diego is an excellent guide. He is not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the history of Casco Viejo-Panama City. He is very personable and will accomodate your needs and your desires to give you the best experience. Loved the stories about how some churches survived the pirates attacks and how some of them even donated to the church.

Knowledgeable and Flexible

Diego shared his exceptional knowledge of Panama’s history in both English and Spanish for all the members of our group. He modified the tour route and worked around rain and a political demonstration. Very easy going, he answered many questions and gave recommendations about other tours.

Casco walking tour and Diego Feliu is a great combination

We had a great 2 hour walk with Diego around the old city. I think he might be 5th generation Panamanian so he was able to share some unique locations and history of Casco and the country of Panama. He was very knowledgeable and receptive to related questions. He was very timely and dependable on any communications related to scheduling. At the end of the tour he offered some suggestions for restaurants. By the way, he loves spices from William and Sonoma (which he can't get in Panama) so bringing him a gift like that might go a long way for the attention you will receive!
